Special Ops Soldier, work in progress
For the past couple of months my team and I have been working hard on this Special Ops soldier. Next year we will cast the 74 inch clay sculpture into bronze and install it in a Veterans Memorial park near the Eau Claire river in Wisconsin. The life size sculpture is one of several that will honor thirteen American wars, beginning with the American Revolution and concluding with the Global War on Terror.
The special ops soldier that it captures is from the early 2000’s. With all of the details involved in the sculpture I worked closely with a military historian for accuracy.
Special operation soldiers, specializing in direct action, special reconnaissance, and counterterrorism operations. They are trained to operate in any environment, and are composed of specially selected and well–trained soldiers. They are the most elite military units in the world. My life size sculpture is designed to honor the courage, wisdom, and power of the finest members of the armed forces, and I hope it will serve as a lasting tribute to them.
