In mid-September of this year my life size bronze sculpture of a saluting Air Force Sergeant was delivered and installed at American Veterans Park in West Point, Nebraska. The bronze military sculpture is permanently installed on a grey granite base. It is the 7th large scale sculpture for the quarter acre park, with three more left to sculpt.

The project was conceived in 2016 as a place to honor all veterans from the US. The 13 member committee worked with West Point Monument to design the veterans park. I was hired for each of the bronze military sculptures through Earl Boston, the lead designer of the park.
The 6 foot tall bronze statue is dedicated to all active soldiers and all veterans. It is also dedicated to Bernie Hunke, a long time resident of West Point. A veteran, active community member, husband and father. Bernie had modeled for the sculpture a couple of months before he tragically passed away. The contributions that Bernie made to this small town of 3500 people make this sculpture significant.
